Androgenic Alopecia is the scientific name for Male Pattern Baldness (MPB). This is the cause of thinning hair in 95% of balding men. MPB occurs in predictable stages, and is relentlessly progressive. Usually the earlier in life the hair loss begins the more advanced the pattern will ultimately become.
In MPB the hair on top of the scalp have a genetic sensitivity to the male hormone Dihydro Testosterone (DHT). The hair on the sides and back of the head do not possess this sensitivity to DHT and therefore are not affected. For this reason, the hair removed from the back of the head (Donor hair) will continue to grow for a life time, when transplanted.
The hair loss in females tends to be more diffuse and less predictable. The same hair transplant option is also applicable to women. We also restore eyebrows, lost or damaged due to over plucking, or injury.
